It was a rather gloomy night.

I was sobbing silently on the other line, holding it all in. I got carried away by my feelings I forgot he was on the other line. I hope he did not hear me sipping soup or something. It'd be sooo embarrassing.

Then he played this song on his end.

when I was younger
i saw my daddy cry
and curse at the wind
he broke his own heart
and I watched
as he tried to reassemble it
and my momma swore that
she would never let herself forget
and that was the day that I promised
i'd never sing of love
if it does not exist

but darlin'

You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception

maybe I know, somewhere
deep in my soul
that love never lasts
and we've got to find other ways
to make it alone
or keep a straight face
and I've always lived like this
keeping a comfortable, distance
and up until now
i had sworn to myself that I'm content
with loneliness
'cause none of it was ever worth the risk

You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception

i've got a tight grip on reality, but I can't
let go of what's in front of me here
i know you're leaving in the morning, when you wake up
leave me with some kind of proof it's not a dream
ooh ooh...

You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception
You are the only exception

and I'm on my way to believing
oh, and I'm on my way to believing

And every time I will hear this song, I know it will always remind me of him. And the tears I will shed for this.

No matter what happens.

I should not expect. I will not expect. I must not expect.

I should always keep this in mind especially on this or else, if everything blows up in my face, the breakdown would be so horrible. It would be difficult to get up again.

But then again, I should not base my happiness on others. True happiness should come from within. But feelings...*sigh* are too much. O.o

Hehe. Just a random useless blah from one of my thoughts today. XD

:)

this is like a dream
in a stream
full of wonder and gleam

it's the perfect timing
the one i'm wishing
got me to thinking

it completes the vow
and take a bow
it's here and now

it's like an illusion
a big delusion
into confusion

if this is all a dream
i never want to wake up
don't wake me up
i'll forever slumber and sleep.

At long last, the movie that I have greatly anticipated this 2010 finally came to cinemas. Once again the wild and quirky imagination of Tim Burton came to life along with his long time collaborator and friend Johnny Depp who played the eccentric character in the persona of the Mad Hatter. I can say that Tim Burton again has never failed my expectations of his surreal and wickedly created movies. I just love his works! Lol.

When Tim Burton is part of a movie, one can say that this movie will somehow be 'different', twisted, and has some dark atmosphere set up with it and Alice in Wonderland is no exception. It's not the typical Alice you see in movies, not the typical plot if you have read the book or the original story, and definitely not the typical Disney film you see most of the time.

The movie has that Tim Burton-esque feel to it---it's dark, creepy, weird, amusing, and full of surprises. That's what I like about his films. He always never fail to make a movie somewhat interesting, artistic and creative that cannot be found in other films. When you see his movies, you can always say that, this is definitely his movie.

In the film, Alice is now 19 years old and accidentally returns to Underland, a place she previously visited 13 years ago. She is told that she is the only one that can slay the Jabberwocky, a dragon controlled by the Red Queen. Burton said the original Wonderland story was always about a girl wandering around from one character to another and he never felt a connection emotionally, so he wanted to make it feel more like a story than a series of events. He doesn't see this as a sequel to previous films or a re-imagining.

For me, the movie was visually alluring. It's like you're being transported to another place; a place like no other. Seeing it in 3D makes it more interesting but somehow, there were parts that kind of made me a bit cross-eyed or dizzy. But nonetheless, it was no difference to seeing it in non-3D prior to it not fully an animated movie. The movie has a mixture of adventure, a little bit of comedy here and there and really cracks up your imagination. I can say the movie was really worth the watch. Especially in 3D. :)

The characters were really playful and were full of oddities. I love how Burton portrayed them and the animated figures were great. Tweedledee and Tweedledum were particularly funny and cute. The Cheshire Cat was as elusive as ever and the Red Queen was perfectly portrayed (by Helen Bonham Carter herself). And we shouldn't forget the Mad Hatter, played by Johhny Depp who never fails to portray eccentric and bizarre characters (really shows he is truly flexible! lol) And the main protagonist which is Alice who played the part seamlessly. Anne Hathaway was also in the movie playing the White Queen who as also eccentric and a little bit too dramatic. Overall, the characters make up the bizzare and magical world of Wonderland and helped to make it come alive.

Also at the end of the movie, I knew there was something in the singer's voice played afterwards. I was particularly captivated by it and I was shocked that was Avril Lavigne who was singing the song. Gosh. My favorite director, my favorite actor along with my one of my favorite artist all in one movie. That was surprising. And very satisfying. Overall, I give the movie a hundred thumbs up! Lol. I'm a bit biased coz I like Tim Burton's films so much and I love Johnny Depp. Lol.

I have just realized one thing. We all know that life is composed of ups and downs. It's a balance. But people pick up or choose what facet of their life they want to show among the public/people/environment.

There's no such thing (I think) as people who are always happy all the time. Or you see them as always cheerful and happy and they don't seem to have any problems or that they don't ever feel sad or distressed. It's just that, they choose to show the happy side of their life. They may have some sorrows and problems that may have been concealed. That doesn't mean they have more happiness than others. It's just that they choose to show it more and can be seen by more people.

Also, those people who you think must have been very lonely or sad or suffering because of the things that he or she have shown, doesn't mean that he or she is always like that. It just means that he or she chooses to show her negative emotions and feelings while he or she may feel happiness or joy that may not be seen by most people. I think this is how life goes. It's not really a matter of fact but rather a result of introspection, observation and perception. It is my own opinion. At least that's how I view it. One may contradict as he or she cannot relate to this conviction but for me, this is how I perceive it. People choose the emotion, whether negative or positive, they want to show to the public. It's a matter of choice. It may not be a subconscious choice. The mind sometimes play tricks on us and we tend to become impulsive on what emotions we want to show. Especially if the emotion is too strong.

On people having psychological problems, especially those people with manic depressive disorders, umm, that's another side of the story. Those people who are suffering from hyperactivity, over-excitedness?(i don't know the term...it's kind of hard to explain...i just read it from wikipedia and i kind of forgot), depression disorder...hmm...i don't know how their minds work actually but I do want to know. It's another topic. No wonder I am so fond of Psychology. This is another topic to delve on.

This is a pretty old song from Nelly Furtado but it's still a classic and the sense of the song is still so profound even to these times (it's really not that old anyway). It's one of my favorites and I just recently heard it and decided to write something about it while the feeling is still there.

According to Nelly, the song is about the reality of love. "My energy used to just go everywhere, but now I'm more grounded because I've found true love. The idea here is that, yeah, sometimes life sucks. But life is only so long, and somebody can come along who makes you want to be a better person."

It also shows the reality of life, not just love. The verses speak about the harsh realities that one faces in life and the chorus goes in and then love comes along...strong but struggling.

"And all I can do is TRY"

The song ends in a positive way that through these hardships and trials of life and love can freedom be achieved in a refined manner.

"We are free in our LOVE"

The song starts off with something that sounds like a heartbeat---it's like she really put her heart into this. It also has a kind of quietness depicted with using a few instruments in the beginning and comes on strong as the song progresses. The song kind of gives off a melancholic feeling (if you really absorb yourself in the music). It's not the kind of feeling you usually get when you listen to mushy love songs that you hear on the radio or anywhere (mainstream music) but the kind of feeling you get from the reality of life and love in general. Maybe it's just me. Lol. The ending had the strongest beat signifying a happy ending despite of all the hardships and failures that life and love brings.

In my perspective, the verses speak so much for me.

"All I know is EVERYTHING IS NOT AS IT'S SOLD
but the more I grow, THE LESS I KNOW"

Almost every line in the verse is something that I feel I can relate and connect to. They speak so much. It gives off an almost perfect portrayal of hardship and life's reality and how deceptive and ironic the world can be. It kind of makes you numb just to shut yourself out from the pain.

"I wish I hadn't seen all of the REALNESS
and all the REAL PEOPLE are really not real at all"

"The more I learn, THE MORE I LEARN
The more I cry, THE MORE I CRY
As I say goodbye to the way of life
I thought I had designed for me"

The chorus is how I perceive love. Someone comes along. Everything seems to change. Somehow the old you cannot fit in anymore to this new change since you have to compromise for love. Some things must be left behind. And somehow, you gradually change along with this new change (which can either be good or bad). And all you can do is try. You try to be the person he wants you to be. And vice versa.

"Then I see you standing there
WANTING MORE FROM ME
And all I can do is TRY"

"Then I see you standing there
I'M ALL I'LL EVER BE
But all I can do is TRY"

It's like saying I want to be the person you want me to be but this is me and all I can do is try to be that kind of person.

Some things don't change no matter how hard we try. And that's the beauty of it. You have to compromise and accept. That's where freedom exists in love. Just being yourself with that person accepting you wholeheartedly with all the good, the bad, and ugly in you.

"All of the things we want each other to be
We never will be
And that's wonderful
That's LIFE
That's YOU
This is ME
And we are FREE IN OUR LOVE"

Isn't it nice? ^_^

the stillness of your face
the hardness of your expression
captures my breath
and calms the soul in me

just the sight of you
takes my breath away
just a glimpse of you
melts my solitary heart

the depthness of your soul
creates music in my veins
the complexity of your heart
paints a beautiful scenery

my flaws and fears
seem to disappear
my insecurities
vanish away

you stole the darkness
that lingered in me
and covered my pain
with only your touch

you were a stranger
you are my beloved
the unforeseen missing piece
that perfectly fits

*for my future husband...lol! if he exists...

i don't wanna get caught
in a hole i can't get
out of my world you'll see
hidden secrets and fears

the ones you see are the
good ones, blunt surfaces
that make you be fooled
be trapped and be dazzled

but once you delve in too
much your heart can't contain
can't accept the secrets
that lie behind this face

it's better to be a
mystery, an enigma
be appreciated
by the surface you show

rather than be loathed
rejected or despised
by revealing all of
your whole entity

REALIZATIONS:
*sometimes i think it's better to know a person only on the surface than delving deeper into that person's heart, knowing his/her 'other side' coz there are just some things that are difficult to cope with*

*first impressions are quite misleading...as you get to know the person more and more...knowing his/her 'other side'...his/her 'other qualities'...his/her flaws and fears...either your appreciation and admiration grow deeper or it will diminish, vanish and fade subtly*

*but i do still want to create deep meaningful long-lasting relationships with a few chosen ones...the ones i can trust my whole self with...people who will know my flaws and fears yet accept me whole heartily...as i will do the same for them too...if i can cope with it (as long as it is still a humane flaw meaning he/she is not a sociopath O.o)...these kinds of people it seems, in this kind of world, are quite rare and difficult to find*
